Sketch-a-Day 10 B = Brandywine

As lousy as I feel, I couldn't let the day pass without a small tribute to the great Andrew Wyeth who passed away today. So much great and important art from one guy.
Thanks Mr. Brandywine.

Bed.

Wow, news to me. I went to the Butler Museum of Art yesterday, and they had a Andrew Wyeth Section up, along with N.C and James. Sad to hear.

Where's the Butler Museum of Art?

Yeah, this was a real bummer. I heard about it via Dave Crosland.
Glad somebody threw him some love.

It's in downtown youngstown situated in the middle of youngstown state university. It has so much great art. I mean it really hits everyone's tastes, and then the have a more fun section off to the side. The installation there now is hologram portraits. Weird crazy stuff.

But they always have a singer sargent painting up (a nice big family portrait), and they just bought a norman rockwell. I cant remember the name of it exactly, but I think it was "The woodcutter". Looks like abraham lincoln with a hatchet and a book. At what looks to be 8 foot tall, it's just an amazing painting. But I managed to forget the name of the stinking thing. Probably because i was standing really close to it and admiring the brushstrokes haha. Saw Wyeth paintings, a sargent, and a rockwell. Was a good day.
