Most days I will write down interesting words I read or just hear on the radio and save them for inspiration. Today, the word cocoon was on top of my list, and though I wasn't real sure what I wanted to do with it I thought this felt pretty cocoony.
Ha! yeah, there's some definite "Dune" happening, here. Dave, the recent sketches are gorgeous. I'm a big fan of this Cocoon piece, as well as the Russian dancer a few posts ago. Great creepy touch, having his skeleton exposed at the midsection. GREAT.
Dave you draw beautifully... elegant and with ease that freaks out other mortals. There is something about well crafted drawing technique that is sheer pleasure to see. I'll mention the great Ingres to prove that I have paged through an art book...as well as Hockney. Being from canada, most people around here would think that this last name is a national frozen water sport...there is not much culture of the artistic kind around here. Bravura drawing Dave... strong and confident and graphically impactful! (yup new word)

thanks Dave! I guess I need to go rent Dune and see what the reference is!
